Plans and pricing
Rhetoric has two paid plans. Pro is the default at $12/mo or $120/yr (a 17% saving). It includes the speech editor, cloud library, enhanced voice-tracked teleprompter with 10 hours a month of enhanced tracking, freestyle drills, spoken debate, and the Full Audit engine.
Premium costs $22.99/mo or $240/yr. It includes everything in Pro and adds live spoken AI debate: voice-to-voice sparring with an AI opponent and 60 live audio debate minutes a month. Premium exists because live voice is a different cost profile. If you do not need spoken debate, Pro is the right plan.
The pricing page shows both plans side by side with a Monthly/Annual toggle. Annual pricing is shown per year, not per month. The Annual toggle reads "Annual · save up to 17%".
The free trial
A free trial lets you use the real product once, with no credit card and no time limit. You receive a fixed lifetime allowance: one Full Audit on a speech of up to 4,000 words, one freestyle session with its full assessment, and three short live voice debates.
Each trial debate is a flash format: one speech per side, 60 seconds of connection, with the human's speech at most 25 seconds and the opponent's reply about 45 words. The judge delivers a verdict on debates one and two. Debate three has no verdict.
The trial allowance never resets. Once all three items are used, your speeches and library stay yours: you can read, edit, and export your work. Running a new audit, freestyle session, or live debate requires a paid plan.
Features that are not part of the trial include the teleprompter, written debates, interjections, Case Doctor, recovery cards, and the quick analysis. These come with a paid plan.
To prevent repeat signups, Rhetoric keeps a hashed email address, a device identifier, and a network identifier for each trial account. These are one-way hashes, not the raw values.
Starting a free trial
The trial signup is a three-step process on the pricing page.
- Click Start free trial on the pricing page. A dialog opens.
- Enter your email address and click Send verification code. Check your inbox for a six-digit code.
- Enter the code and click Verify. Then set a password of at least 8 characters and click Start my free trial.
You land in the workspace immediately. No card is asked for at any point.
Buying a plan
Paid checkout begins on the pricing page. Choose Monthly or Annual, then click Get Pro or Get Premium on the plan you want.
- Enter your email and click Send verification code. A six-digit code arrives in your inbox.
- Enter the code and click Verify and continue to checkout. You are redirected to Stripe.
- Complete payment on Stripe. Rhetoric never sees your card number.
- Stripe returns you to the welcome page, where you set a password and choose your first rehearsal.

See plans and pricingThe welcome flow
After Stripe, you land on the welcome page. If this is a new account, you set a password (at least 8 characters) and confirm it. The page then asks "What are you preparing for?" with four choices.
- A speech or talk: seeds a starter draft with cue markers and opens the editor.
- A pitch: seeds a problem/solution/ask template and opens the editor.
- A debate: takes you to debate setup.
- Just practicing: takes you to a freestyle drill.
Each choice drops you into the matching mode so your first real score becomes a baseline. If you would rather explore on your own, click "Skip, just take me to the workspace".
Signing in
Go to the login page. Enter the email and password you set during activation and click Sign in. If your credentials do not match, check that you have set a password: new buyers who closed the welcome tab before setting one may not have one yet. In that case, use the activation email (below) or click Forgot? to request a reset link.
Resetting your password
- On the login page, click Forgot? to open the reset page.
- Enter your account email and click Send reset link.
- Open the link from your inbox within one hour, in the same browser you normally use.
- Choose a new password of at least 8 characters and click Save password & enter.
Only the most recent reset or activation link works. Requesting a new one invalidates all previous links.
The activation email
Every new account receives an activation email with a direct link to set a password. If you closed the welcome tab before setting one, this email is your way in. It works the same way as a password reset link: open it, choose a password, and you are signed in.
Joining an organization
Organizations on Rhetoric can give their members seats in three ways: domain-based joining, claim links, and private invitations.
Domain joining: go to the join page, enter your work or school email, and verify it with a six-digit code. If your organization auto-approves, your seat is granted immediately. If approval is required, your request is held until an admin approves it.
Claim links: a one-time link that admits one person. Open it, verify your email with a code (or join in one click if you are already signed in), and your seat is attached. Each claim link can only be used once.
Private invitations: a time-limited link bound to a single email address. Accept it before the expiry date shown on the page. Your access clock starts only after your password is saved, not when you open the link.
A personal email address (gmail.com, outlook.com, and similar) will not match on the domain-join page. Use the invite link your admin shared, or ask them for one.
Upgrading from a trial
Visit the pricing page or click Upgrade in Settings. Because you already have a password, the welcome flow skips the password step and goes straight to the onboarding question. Pick any option or click "Skip, just take me to the workspace" to continue.
A trial account can upgrade to Pro or Premium at any time. Your speeches and practice history carry over.
