Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Cortis LLC (Wyoming, USA) for using Rhetoric, the speech writing and rehearsal workspace at rhetoricspeech.com. By creating an account or subscribing you accept them.

The service

Rhetoric provides a document editor, a voice-tracked rehearsal stage, practice drills, an AI debate partner, and AI analysis of your writing and delivery. The public browser demo is a lightweight sample and is labeled as such; the paid product is the full workspace. We improve the product continuously, which means features evolve.

Accounts

You need an account with a working email address, you're responsible for what happens under it, and you must keep your password to yourself. One account is for one person.

Subscriptions & billing

• Pro is $12/month or $96/year; Premium (live spoken debate) is priced separately on the pricing page. Prices may change with notice before your next renewal.
• Billing runs through Stripe and renews automatically. Cancel any time from Settings → Manage billing; you keep full access until the end of the period you paid for, after which your library becomes read-only and exportable.
• If a renewal payment fails, access continues during a short grace period while Stripe retries, then pauses until payment succeeds.

The 14-day guarantee

There's no free trial; instead, your first purchase carries a 14-day money-back guarantee. Email hello@rhetoricspeech.com within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full, no questions that matter.

Your content

Your speeches, transcripts, and session data are yours. You grant us only the license needed to operate the product: storing your content, syncing it, and processing the text through the AI features you invoke. We claim no other rights, and we don't use your content to train models.

AI features, honestly

• AI output (analysis, coaching, debate arguments, verdicts) is generated by a model and can be wrong, unfair, or out of date. It's practice feedback, not professional advice. Verify anything you plan to state as fact.
• AI features carry generous monthly quotas, rate limits, and spend safeguards. They exist to stop abuse and runaway scripts, not normal humans doing real work. If you hit one legitimately, contact us and we'll raise it.
• Don't use Rhetoric to generate or rehearse unlawful content, harassment, or material that violates others' rights, and don't probe, scrape, resell, or overload the service.

Availability & disclaimers

We aim for the service to be reliable, but it's provided “as is” without warranties; outages, data-source hiccups, and browser quirks happen. Export your work before high-stakes moments.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Cortis LLC's total liability for any claim related to Rhetoric is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including the outcome of any speech, debate, pitch, or exam.

Termination

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms; if we terminate without cause, we refund the unused portion of your subscription.

Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, USA. If we change them materially, we'll update the date above and notify you before the change applies to you. Questions: hello@rhetoricspeech.com.
