Supported browsers, engines, and fallbacks
Where live voice tracking works best, what the enhanced tracker is, and what happens when recognition isn't available.
The short version
- Desktop Chrome or Edge is the most reliable path for live voice tracking.
- The free demo uses your browser's own speech recognition; it's a lightweight sample, and the quickest way to test your setup.
- Paid sessions use the enhanced tracker where possible: a managed speech engine with smoother word timing and recovery. Sessions are labeled before they start, so you always know which engine is listening.
- If the enhanced engine can't start, the session falls back to the browser engine and says so; same honest label.
When recognition isn't available at all
The teleprompter never dead-ends. In its settings you can switch the mode from auto (voice-tracked when possible) to timed: the script scrolls at a steady pace you control, adjustable between 90 and 180 words per minute. It's not voice tracking, and it doesn't pretend to be; but it keeps you rehearsing on any browser.
Phones: you can browse, try the demo, subscribe, and read your library on a phone, but for real practice a laptop with Chrome or Edge gives the smoothest tracking.
